Northern New England Down Syndrome Congress
Concord, NH

The Northern New England Down Syndrome Congress (NNEDSC) has held two Buddy Walks so far. The organization will host its third in 2004.

Last year, the group’s walk drew 500 participants and raised $28,000. Donations for the Buddy Walk came mostly from corporate sponsorships of the event. NNEDSC also charged a nominal pledge to all walkers.

Walk organizer Sarra Dennehy shares that persistence and organization are key in organizing the event, and the best advice she has for other Buddy Walk organizers is “Start early and don’t be afraid to ask!”
